Russian President Dmitry Medvedev gave his most explicit support yet for regime change in Libya on Friday, offering to mediate a deal to help oust Col. Moammar Gadhafi from power.
The Russian leader's change in stance was seen as an important victory for U.S. President Barack Obama. It followed bilateral meetings between the two at the Group of Eight industrial powers summit in Deauville, France.
